Windows 7 backup has located a Trojan in one of the shadow copies (I have MANY) and will not perform a backup. What can I do? Please help. It is time to do a backup and I need to do it now.

Solution
Assuming that the malware has already been removed, you will need to purge the Volume Shadow Copies before you will be able to perform the backup.

Clear Volume Shadow Copies on Windows 7:

1. Click Start > Computer.
2. Right click on Local Disk C (C: ) and select Properties.
3. Accept any alerts from Windows UAC.
4. Click the Disk Cleanup button.
5. Wait for Disk cleanup to finish calculating.
6. Select the More Options tab in the new window.
7. Select the Clean up button for System Restore and Shadow Copies.
8. Click Delete to confirm.

Eradicate the trojan first.
Delete all your previous 'backups'.
Then do a new backup.

Or do you mean recover from one of your earlier backups. That contain the Trojan?
You probably don't want to do that.
Consider them gone...

That worked - Now I have another emergency question? Windows is stuck in a configuring Windows Update loop. It is stuck at 35% and has not moved n 30 minutes. Please help ASAP. Question posted elsewhere - please move this to right area if you can't help here. I am desperate.
