windows boot, pause when starting up

Oh common Phial, be a bit more proactive.. do the other things I suggested to help narrow down the problem. Disable the modem and/or the second nic, check the event log,..

ok theres two things i notice when i look in the system event viewer


event 7000 and 7022 both experience errors, and its only those two everytime, repeating. the Source for those two is : Service Control Manager which means nothing to me.

and right before these two events, is the lag that I am seeing when i restart, about 2 minutes, while all the other events are within a few seconds of oneanother.


is there a way i can find out what thsoe events are?

But you need more than the ID, you need the error desciption as well, the ID's seem very generic.

p4man: meh. i got a M$ Certified call centre monkey who knows all that crap, so ill just get him to fix it. he has access to the internal M$ Knowledgebase

the error was a missing file, so i uninstalled it, and problem solved.
