Hello all, my m.2 SSD has just come back from repair and I am trying to install windows on it. When I try to it comes up with an error saying “ Windows can not be installed to this disk. This computers hardware may not support booting into this disk. Ensure that the disk’s controller is enabled in the computers BIOS menu. I have already check in bios and under SATA controller it is enabled, any help? My mother board is Z390 GAMING SLI and SSD is SPECTRIX S40G 1tb. Thanks!

if it doesnt work at this point, then go to your uefi/bios.
BIOS -> CSM Support -> Disabled
BIOS -> Storage Boot Option -> UEFI
Chipset -> Above 4G Decoding ->Enabled (this one isnt necesary, but some recent hardware kinda uses that already - so just for future proofing and also it forces CSM off)

Sounds to me you need to ask a friend to check the ssd works. Once we know it works, then we can work out why a PC that worked with the previous M.2 that I assume was same model, no longer installs onto it.

What is name/model of the m.2?
