Windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only installed on GPT disks.

I built my computer with parts I ordered and things were ok except that I kept getting BSOD's with System Service Exceptions. I did a lot of trouble shooting and reinstalling and updating of drivers and such but nothing helped. I decided it would be best to completely reinstall Windows, so I put in my install disk and formatted Disk 0 Partition 2, deleted it, and turned it into unallocated space. Now, it says I am unable to install Windows on this disk.

Did I screw up? Help me please.

I know this thread is old, but I ran into this and was chasing my tail on it trying to do fresh windows 10 install. running command line, livecd, everything....and all I had to do was find this thread and viola!!!! fixed!

Thanks. Sometimes it is staring you right in the face...lol

Thank you, Ankit Moradiya. I've spent/wasted much time trying to resolve this issue. I've been installing W10 in dual boot config on several machines and all worked fine until the last one which presented this problem. Lots of searches, wrong directions, downloading of software that didn't actually allow me to change MBR to GPT w/o buying the package (even though advertised as "free" to use for this purpose.) So again, many thanks to you for providing such a simple answer.
