Once you are in Windows, go to the "Run" command and type in "Computer Management". Once the Computer Management window opens, you will need to select Disk Managemanet, listed under the Storage tree. You should see your new hard drive as an unidentified volume (will be listed below the operating system drive). You will need to right click on it and create new volume. Select the desired drive letter and select "Quick Format" and "NTFS" and your file system and all should be good to go. If the drive is 1TB or larger, you will be prompted to use GUID for the partition. Once the drive is completed formatting, it should then appear under the "My Computer" as a valid storage device.
