Windows claims to not be genuine after bootloader reinstall

I installed Linux with win 7 in dual boot configuration. Decided I didn't need Linux. After removing Linux I had to reinstall win 7 boot loader, grub(Linux boot loader) overwrote the windows boot loader. After reboot win 7 claims to be not genuine. I bought the computer second hand(dell 1545) and it has no COA sticker on the bottom. Please tell me I don't have to shell out for new license. Previous to uninstalling Linux I installed win updates and the software was confirmed as genuine.

If Windows reports it's not genuine, it probably means it needs to be reactivated. However, since your system does not have a COA sticker (big mistake), you have no way to re-activate it. You will have to purchase a new license.

Edit: ...or you might get lucky. When you purchased the system, did you go to Dell and transfer ownership to you? If not, can the original owner do that for you? If either of these two cases are true, then you may be able to contact Dell and get a new COA for your system and then re-activate.

I called the store I bought the computer from. Guy I need to talk to'll be there tomorrow. Hoping he'll resolve the issue because the computer is barely worth more than the software.
