Windows Converted My ThumbDrive Files to System Files

I found that Windows converted all my old files to system files with a .CHK after them. To view them, I had to un hide system folders in Tools.

I can access the videos I need with Media player, but they still say .CHK. How can I covert them back?

Thanks, that helped a little. There are still a ton of files missing. Most are video clips and most are in folders. I'm not sure if they were really deleted since it says the space is still taken up.

Those are result from checkdisk operation, it must have found file system corruption.
