Windows Defender disabled and Antimalware Service Executable is still eating cpu usage (help)

The other day i randomly started dropping heavy frames when gaming and soon realized it was due to cpu usage by the antimalware service exectable, which from what ive learned is Windows Defender. After scouring the internet in search of answers these are the things i have done :

I tried changing the scheduling
I tried turning windows defender off the simple way, through the settings
I tried turning it off through regedit
I tried turning it off through gpedit

Windows Defender is definitely off and yet this is still eating at my cpu usage. restarting does nothing and giving it time to do whatever its doing is doing nothing. I honestly have no clue what else to do. There doesn’t seem to be any answers for getting rid of this issue online aside from messing with windows defender settings or straight up turning it off. And i’m not seeing anyone have this issue while having defenser disabled.

Anyone have an idea?

yea this is something i was thinking about doing, but im just not sure how it is still hogging so much cpu usage when windows defender is disabled? from everything i’ve read it seems like the two are connected. so im just wondering if it could be something else

Windows defender is automatically disabled when you install another anti-malware software.

That is more or less the selling point of the Panda Free Antivirus software that it is lighter than Defender.
