Windows does not let me use one of my displays.

I have plugged in my TV into the HDMI port of my Sapphire Radeon HD 7870. In windows it is recognized but when I press extend desktop to this display and apply, it does not let me apply the setting. How can I make this TV my main display?

have you bothered to click the APPLY button just like the warning tells you to do before you can do anything else? 😛

Once I press apply it says that it cannot apply the settings

ah, right, I misread that bit originally. what happens when you cancel out and retry it? or alternatively, plug in only the TV's HDMI and start from there to add the others?

the card / windows may just be "having kittens"

I have restarted the computer and did the old plug in and plug out on the HDMI port,
