Windows doesnt recognize my new headset

Hey, when i plug in my brand new headset, windows wont recognize/install it. It loads for a second trying to install and then it says it failed. Then i tried a old USB that used to work and i got the same problem. How do i fix this?

What brand and model is your new headset? Did it come with a driver disk? Did you install the drivers from the disk?

No driver cd. The brand is steelseries siberia v2 heat orange

Here's what I'll suggest, try plugging your mouse into that USB port, see if it get's recognized, if not, reboot PC and try the mouse there again (actually, I think I'll suggest leaving it off for a few minutes so any polyfuses can reset). If the mouse works in that port then, try the SS headset again, see where you get.
