why ALL my drives get slow if only one hdd is doing something? i have my os (win 10 pro) in a ssd, my data in a 4TB hdd (with 4 partition) and my games on a 2TB hdd (single partition) and when i do something like some huge file transfer (20+ GB) from a partition to another of the same drive (the 4TB one) everything else slows down, internet browsing slow like hell, games drop from 60FPS to 9 ecc... even if they shouldn't because they are not in the same drive. any suggestion?

i got a i7 4790k and 32GB 2400mhz ram so i don't think it's cpu or ram related

Hi again, 96jaco96!

It's probably best to post a screenshot of the SMART attributes from the diagnostic test rather than the transfer rate benchmark results. They'd tell us more specific details on the health status. However, the 2 TB does seem slow, maybe you should try plugging that drive in a different SATA port on the mobo or use a different SATA cable for it, and see if that will improve the speed rate.

Keep me posted! :)

Hey there, 96jaco96!

I'd strongly recommend you to test your HDDs using their manufacturer's diagnostic tool. It will help you determine the health and SMART data status of the drives. You should be able to find the software on their website. In case you can't do that, you can refer to this thread for some third-party suggestions: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility

It's probably a good idea to run a malware/anti-virus scan as well, just to be sure, and clear your redundant, temp, dump files as well using a cleaning utility.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! :)

hi :) thx for the quick reply. i used crystal disk info and it says that all my three drives are good, i've run a crystal disk mark and got these results:

120GB ssd

seq q32t1: read 425.0 write 142.0

4k q32t1: read 31.10 write 113.7

seq: read 422.8 write 138.8

4k: read 27.71 write 81.95

4TB hdd first partition

seq q32t1: read 130.9 write 127.8

4k q32t1: read 0.608 write 1.506

seq: read 130.7 write 121.2

4k: read 0.536 write 1.371

4TB hdd second partition

seq q32t1: read 130.7 write 129.0

4k q32t1: read 0.523 write 1.140

seq: read 129.4 write 124.8

4k: read 0.344 write 1.033

4TB hdd third partition

seq q32t1: read 128.2 write 127.8

4k q32t1: read 0.588 write 1.216

seq: read 128.6 write 123.1

4k: read 0.452 write 1.115

4TB hdd fourth partition

seq q32t1: read 107.1 write 107.9

4k q32t1: read 0.510 write 1.033

seq: read 107.2 write 101.1

4k: read 0.374 write 1.064

2TB hdd

seq q32t1: read 84.60 write 86.61

4k q32t1: read 0.614 write 0.761

seq: read 83.69 write 85.99

4k: read 0.520 write 0.755

i've also cleaned my temp files with ccleaner and with the windows disk cleanup utility and done a full virus scan with avast, then i've restarted the pc and i've tryed to move some large files from partition to partition of the 4TB drive to test and sadly i got the same results.. internet slow games lag ecc.. any other ideas? i'm starting to think it's just windows 10 because with 8.1 i haven't had those issues

never mind i've solved :D it was the paging files. I had set a 4GB paging file on my ssd and it looks like it was that the problem.. i've removed it and tried again to transfer files and there were no lag :D anyway you're right the 2TB one do seems slow.. luckily it's still under warranty so i will replace it. for anyone having the same issues try to remove the paging file from the main drive :)
thanks for the help :)
