I need abit of help, I have been having alot of trouble with my computer freezing, blue screens of death etc. I decided to do a windows reinstallation. That went all fine but now i sometimes get a windows failed to start after restarting the computer.

It doesn't happen all the time and when i fully switch the computer off it starts up fine. This is the message it left when the problem was occuring,

Windows failed to start
Status ox000000e
INFO: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.

Asks to put in the windows disc and restart to repair computer, I have done that numerous times and the problem keeps coming back.

I have reinstalled windows about 3 times in the last 2 weeks.

Any help would be appreciated, also when i was getting the blue screen of death the blue screen flashed on then off so fast i am unable to see what the problem ia. Is their anyway to see what the actual problem is when that screen comes up.

Thanks.

Will check all that but seems weird tho that it only sometimes does it, for some reason even after a new windows install my computer will freeze up and restart by it's self. Sometimes it restarts fine tho and once in a while it will fail to boot up.

Thanks alot man, as for the blue screen of death, it flickers on and off so fast i don't have time to see what the issue is. Is there a way so that i can find out what the blue screen was or any programs to help me with this.

You would think a full windows reinstall would solve any blue screen issues but if it pops up again i would rather fixthe issue then reistall windows again.

This is what i found from usig the easyBCD they recommended in the link you provided.

There is one entry in the Windows bootloader.

Default: Windows 7
Timeout: 30 seconds
Boot Drive: F:\

Entry #1
Name: Windows 7
BCD ID: {current}
Drive: C:\
Bootloader Path: \Windows\system32\winload.exe

I assume the default is what is loading first and it states my F drive which is just a storage Hard drive with no OS on it, then has entry 1 as being my C drive the one with windows installed. Could this be why it is ometimes not working and if so how do i change it so it selects the C drive eveytime.

open bcd then go to >advanced setting, there under ""basic"" tab see whether its C: or F:,i believe it should be F: in your case..
change it to C:..then save settings.. and restart to see the effect..

clearly your computer is booting from F:
once the problem is solved..dont play with this software much..

I thought I had this problem fixed but it's still happening. BSOD is coming up with

stop: 0x000000f4 (0x0000000000000003, 0xfffffa8005ebb930, 0xfffffa8005ebbc10, 0xfffff800035dd270

Once I restart the computer from this Blue screen it goes to the boot selection failure again when trying to boot up.
I found that maybe my secondary drive was for some reason picked as the master drive while my SSD with windows on it as a slave.

As far as I'm aware I have my SSD as first priority when booting up followed by the secondary HDD.

I plugged only the HDD in to see if it booted up windows but it went straight to boot failure selection like I had been getting after my BSOD.

I'm not sure what's crashing my computer to give me the BSOD and when it restarts it boots up with the secondary HDD.

My SDD is only there for windows and the other HDD has everything else I run like games, movies etc etc.

Surely there is something simple I am missing here not the best with problem solving when it comes to computers.

Thanks and sorry for the wall of text hope it's not too hard to understand..

copy and paste off easybcd
There is one entry in the Windows bootloader.

Default: Windows 7

EasyBCD Boot Device: C:\

I have reinstalled windows 7 onto the SSD with no other HDD's connected.

Plugged in the other HDD after i had installled everything i needed to run computer etc.

Left it alone for bout 30 mins and come back to find it at the screen failed to start again.

I'm assuming my SSD is faulty.

So a question can i install a copy of windows onto my other HDD which has all my games etc on withot losing everything?

ya it seems it has gone faulty.[explains ur bsod]yes you can install it on HDD without losing ur data(if u have enough free space).u need to craete a separate partition for windows on ur HDD as primary.before doing that go for defragmentation of hdd(very imp if u want data intact) then use "easeus" partition manager to create partition.

how much free space is available?

great! u can easily install windows on it.
1>do defragmentation. right click>properties>defrag >analyze>defrag.
2>use easeus partition manager to create partition to install windows: make 50gb primary.(its easy to use,see my link-under bodhi post)
3>install windows on the 50 gb.

Thanks for the help. Been running my computer for few hours now and no crash so time for a new SSD. Any suggestions are the Samsung one's any good.
