[SOLVED] "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it"

Hi,
I recently reinstalled Windows 10 on my desktop and when I went to reinstall the drivers for my GTX 1060 3GB, I was faced with the error in the thread title. Furthermore, within device manager, the graphics card is called "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter".

So far I have:
-Attempted Manual installation of drivers
-GeForce Experience Driver Update
-A basic restart of the computer
-A reseating of the graphics card

The Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, is a generic graphics driver, windows 10 loads so you will have a display to load your propriety GPU driver; in your case GTX 1060.
