Hey,

so I have a gtx 980 and tried to overclock it with msi afterburner. Everything was working just fine but once I started Fortnite it crashed. After that I opened msi afterburner and lowered the settings. This happened again and I did the same. So after the 3rd time my screen went black and I wont get any response from the GPU anymore. I've literally tried every fix I could find, yet it's still marked with the code43. Does anybody have an idea what else I could try? Thanks in advance and sorry for my english.

Specs:
Intel core i3-8350k
Corshair H45 Liquid CPU Cooler
Nvidia geforce gtx 980 strix 4gb
EVGA 600W1
Asus Z370 PrimeP
2x 4GB CorshairDDR5 2400MHz
WD Blue 1TB
SanDiskSSD 240GB SATA3

Temp and power to max and core +140(? not too sure anymore) and memory around the same.
After the 1st crash I lowered it to +60

Yes, I plugged my monitor into the motherboard and booted into safemode, then deinstalled MSI Afterburner and deleted all saved settings.

Try moving the card to another slot, re doing the power cables and plug the monitor back in to it, then power on again.

I did try it the GPU doesn't fit in the 2nd slot because the housing of the hard drives is in the way. I can disassemble the whole computer to give it a try later once I'm at home. Any other suggestions?

That sucks, was a bit of a long shot anyway because it sounds like your GPU is broken.

Is it still under warranty?

You can also try disabling the GPU in device manager and discharging the power from the motherboard by unplugging the power cable and pressing the "on" button a few times. Afterwards, reboot and re-enable the GPU in device mgr. I've had situations in the past where this has resolved a "code 43" error.

@Jiggybyte I've tried this already and it didn't work.

@RobCrezz I bought all parts new besides the GPU x) I thought I could save some money by buying it second hand. Is there a way to tell if it's dead? And is there a way to repair it?(If it is worth)
