I am new to PC building. And I saw videos of people saying download your so from a sub and not a optical drive/disc because it would be so much cheaper. I found this website online: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media
It is where (I think) you download the iso and os
I was watching a Linus tech tips video on how to do this and he said you had to download them from two different links. But his links were different from the one listed above.
So my question is:
Is the download on:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media
everything I need to download before I plug up my usb to my new computer?
If not give me the links to the one you used or the links that will help me with this problem.
Thanks,
Nick P.

Hello... Typically you can DL from Microsoft a ISO file of the OS you want... you use the Microsoft ISO to USB/DVD tool to make "Install media" you have your choice DVD or USB... 4gb-8gb USB sticks are more common to have around than blank 4GB DVD's.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/a/install-windows-7-usb.htm the procedure is the same for other versions of Windows... but I think Windows10 requires a 8gb USB stick. B )

*** Important items are the USB stick must be formatted to FAT32 and "Make Bootable" to work.

Windows 10 is USB install, it doesn't come on a disc anymore. Windows 8 also had this option but more buried since it wasn't the default method. There is no price difference between disc and usb.

your link appears correct just follow the instructions.
