Windows live mail/phot gallery

Hello,
I am using windows pro. and btinternet as isp but when I download live mail and photo live and try and send an email with a photo attached I keep getting the following message
Subject pictures
Server error 501
server response 501 syntax error in arguements
server 'mail.btinternet.com'
windows live mail error ID 0x800ccc78
protocol smtp
port 25
secure (ssl) no
What on earth does this mean?

how do I correct it?

I am a complete novice when it comes to this sort of query, please bear with me as i am not sure how to correct the email address in the reply to field, where will I find it?
