The computer sees other computers and vice versa. any help would be great. I will provide more details if you ask

Does your computer have the sufficient drivers? If the other computers see the computer on the network, then it's a problem with connecting to the outside. Do you use a LAN card? Or onboard? And if so, have you tried hooking the computer up to the router direct? So it doesn't have any problems with switches.

Yes I have the drivers for the dwl 120+. I can't hook up to the router. it only has a modem so I use a USB WiFi thingy

Try pinging from that machine. If it can ping an IP outside f your network, but not a url, then it's a corrupt winsock, and you should be able to locate a fix by googling.

Also check for proxy settings in internet options.

No, can't ping any IP outside the network, and what should the proxy settings be?

Well hello again im back with better understanding of netwerks and all that. thank you all. I have figured it out.
