Windows memory diagnostic inconsistent

Hi,

Lately I am having memory issues. The pc bluescreens with memory management or just crashes. Now I tried checking if there was a broken memory module but came to the conclusion that no module is broken.

So after testing some different orders of the ram sticks, and testing with and without xmp profile, I found an order where windows memory diagnostic didn't give me an error.
To be sure I wouldnt have errors, I ran the test 10 times orso. 7 times I got no errors but there were 3 times the tool said that I had memory problems. This with the sticks in the same order and the same bios settings.

So now the question(s): Is there any better way to detect why my ram is giving errors? And maybe find the "broken" memory module?

Thanks

I would recommend using MEMTEST -- http://www.memtest86.com/ If you get ANY errors from MEMTEST, IMO you need to get rid of that RAM. If you have more than one DIMM and get errors then you power off and test 1 DIMM at a time to find the bad one(s).

So i ran memtest86 as you recommended. It took 1hour 15min to complete 1 pass without errors. I let it run for a couple more passes to see if it is acutally not giving any errors.

If it won't give me errors, can I just keep using this ram in the current configuration even though windows memory diagnostics said 3 out of the 10 times that my memory had errors?

thanks again!

So I let the test run overnight, and it's still running. I got the following result: Picture of result

It clearly has errors unfortunately. But can I conclude that it is the second ram stick (the one in the second) since the errors are all between the 7170 and 7299 MB? Or is this not correctly interpreted? And what would be recommended to do next?

Thanks once again!

It may not be worth your time. I recommend buying matched sets of memory for best compatibility. If you do that, then you will be replacing all the sticks anyway.

Well I did run the 4 sticks 1 by 1, as the test had 3 passes within 2 hours. And found that stick 3 was the issue for me. Since the other 3 sticks are fine, Ill continue to use those 3(12gb) because I'm not sure if i wanna upgrade to skylake soon.

Thanks for your input and recommendations!
