Windows Messenger

I am trying to upgrade to Windows Messenger 5.1. The
installation goes to the end then says there is an older
version of 5.1 and the file is corrupt. I have tried the
command line uninstall and tried to reinstall 5.0 to no
avail. Any ideas?
