[SOLVED] Windows moved to primary screen after turned off

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my dual monitor setup.
So the thing is, now I have a smarthome plug, which I use to turn off my monitors if needed.
If I do so, and turn them on again, all windows from the 2nd monitor are moved to the primary monitor.
Persistent windows doesnt work out, since it doesnt move the windows back. The only thing I read is that it has to do with displayport, so I have my 2nd monitor connected over HDMI and my primary over displayport, if I connect my 2nd to displayport as well now, would that fix it?

It's a common flaw with DisplayPort monitors. Try connecting to it with DVI/HDMI. Use a DP to DVI/HDMI adapter if needed.

You mean the primary monitor? its 165 hz at 1440 with gsync, so only displayport is an option unfortunately. Using displayport on the 2nd wouldnt help?

No, that would just make the 2nd monitor behave the same way.

If there are any "power saving" features on the monitor, try turning those off.
