It sounds odd, but I need help here.

I was playing with AMD's eyefinity in 14.9, and somehow CCC's monitor numbers no longer match those of windows and vice-versa (i have 3 monitors)

I have tried uninstalling and all, but they still just don't match.
How can I change the monitor numbers of monitors in CCC or Windows Screen Resolution?

Is there a way i can reset Windows/CCC's memory of all monitors I've ever installed without messing other things up? I uninstalled and reinstalled CCC VERY cleanly using Driver uninstallers but the numbers are still off.

Please help? it's making CCC think monitors have different resolutions than they actually have since it's confusing them with others I own :/

Here is a screenshot that better explains my problem:

You should be able to click on a monitor and "drag" it to the proper position. The number is associated with a monitor, and it won't let you "renumber" them....but you can re-order them (i.e. monitor 3, monitor 1, monitor 2 - in order from left to right). On both of my computer (I have 2 computers, 4 monitors on my desktop), the left monitor is "2" and the right monitor is "1"....I don't know how Windows determines this....

See, my dilemma is that now some programs RELY on Windows and CCC's Monitor numbering, and not only are they incorrect, they are also different, and are confusing programs...

Another thing is it recognizes my TV as my 1st monitor, which is also your bootup monitor.
Now on boot my main monitor just displays no signal until I get to the desktop :/
I'd really like to at least have my primary monitor be labeled one, and CCC to match Windows. They shouldn't be different from each other.

Have you had any issues using multiple monitors and Screen Numbers? Does you windows boot message and bios show up on your #1 monitor as well?

Sorta had the same problem here. My setup is a typical 3 x 1 (landscape) Eyefinity with 3 DVI monitors - 2 connected through DVI and 1 through an active DisplayPort (DP to DVI) adapter. I wasn't able to find anything to change the numbers in software, but, after some sweating and swearing, here's how I at least got my numbering to match. First, I noticed that ATI likes to presume that whichever monitor is #2 is your default - in your case, the TV. I'd start by unplugging it - physically unplug the HDMI from the card, not just disabling it. Do the same with your other "non-main" display until you're left with just the one monitor. Reboot. Reconnect your second (non TV monitor), then cross your fingers and reconnect your TV.

Hmm...
I tried it, and at first my main was #1, and the secondary was #2, but as soon as I connected the HDMI, the TV made itself #1 and the the bottom 2 changed to #2 and #3 again...
I don't know if anything what could change this order :/

Ah, I see. I can kinda see why that would happen; on my setup, the only non-DVI connection is also #1. You could try doing a little Three-card Monte by plugging the TV in second and the extra monitor in third? Also, in my case, when I re-plugged monitors 2 and 3, they were disabled by default, so maybe my try original solution again, but disable the extra displays first, then unplug from the card... and so forth.

Otherwise, while this seems to be a silly next step on the face of it, if you can get your hands on some DVI to HDMI adapters and vice-versa (they're cheap enough to come by on monoprice and eBay), you could try wiring your intended primary display to the HDMI port via the adapter and relegate your TV to DVI with another adapter. You'd lose the audio signal to the TV this way, but, if it works, it would support my theory that the ports on the back of the card are fixed numbers in CCC.

In your original post all three of the monitors were the "wrong" numbers, has anything changed there?

It really doesn't matter what "number" they are, you just click and drag/drop the monitor into the order they should appear on the screen (i.e. 3-1-2), and then forget about it.....you can select any of the screens to be the primary desktop, and then extend the desktop onto the other monitors....

It's not that the numbering matters, it's that the numbering changing (for no apparent reason) screws things up. For example, I do my daily driving in 3 x 1 independent (say the ordering is 1 2 3), then I pop over to Eyefinity for some gaming, when I go back to my independent mode the ordering is all of a sudden 2 1 3 - it takes 30 seconds to fix, but if I'm doing it twice day, almost every day, it's a PITA. I've been running Eyefinity for almost 5 years now and, while, it's come a long way, it's still far from "set it and forget it".
