I am an avid Minecraft player, and like to import things into my worlds using a program called MCEdit. Recently, I installed this program onto a friends computer, and when I tried to set MCEdit up, the following things happened:
- When I tried to set the default application for the .schematic file, which MCEdit uses, I found that even when I found the application under "Browse" in the Set Default Applications menu, clicked open, and tried to select MCEdit, MCEdit didn't appear!
- It automatically set it to open in WordPad, which caused my friend's computer to restart.

Could someone help me?

several questions to assist. Are you editing the files in C:\Users\YOUR ACCOUNT HERE)\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft folder? this is where it dumps the java engine for minecraft.

The application mcedit itself should have landed in the download folder, and you extracted it somewhere. It doesn't install, it simply runs from where you placed it.
