Hi. I had a noisy PC recently. Giving it a tap seem to calm it down (yes, I am a dopey gorilla).
I tapped it too hard and got some digital squeaking noises. It still worked after cutting the power and re-starting, got past the diagnostic screen etc. I cleaned the fans eventually and removed the noisy one. It still worked.
It has been off and on a few times since.
Now, there is power, I can hear the fans.
The mouse is lit up.
The keyboard is not.
I turned the monitor off and on and it is saying 'no signal'
Is there a step-by-step to work things out?
Many thanks, Nick.

(WAS Solved but gone again)

Amazingly, this worked....

Greetings,

Please try again:

Remove your power cord and hold the On button for like 30 seconds to 1 minute and then connect it back and turn on to see if the problem persists.

Good Luck!

Well, the 'digital squeaking' started again and the system crashed.
The power button trick isnt doing anything.
The noise sounded like a needle skipping across a record but a digital squeak, if that makes any sense.
It made me think I had damaged the HD by tapping the box. I was surprised it worked again after dis-connecting the fan.
Can anybody shed any light on what might have happened?
Many thanks, Nick.
