Windows not using all of my RAM

I've been having some FPS issues in my games and I realized, checking the Task Manager, that the problem is the RAM. There, I saw that Windows was only using 2000mb and was already at 79% of its RAM capacity, which if you do the math, it makes no sense (I have 8GB single channel and Windows says I do have the 8GB working).
So what is the problem if 2GB is 79%? Is the PC not using all of the RAM?

That isn't a surprising to see it only showing one process using a lot of RAM. That is mainly showing what programs are using for RAM and not what Windows requires. For example, my computer is currently showing I am using 23% of 32GB, or just under 8GB, but only one process is large and that is my browser showing 1.7GB of usage and everything else is 500MB or less. In general on a 8GB RAM system once you get to 75-80% RAM usage you are going to start having performance problems due to page swapping. Windows isn't able to keep everything it wants cached in RAM and so it will have to put some of it to the HDD/SSD. If your disk drive is a HDD your performance will suffer far more than if you have a SSD.

No I don't, but if you can recommend me one I won't mind installing it.

That was an accident, sorry!
Wow I just realized it says 4GB available but I still have 8GB, so basically it only uses 4GB... wut

Thanks for your reply but I just found out that my PC is really only using 4GB, so this might not be the case.

The model is: VENGEANCE® LPX 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2666MHz C16 Memory Kit
And the resource monitor says that there's only about 4GB avaliable (shouldn't that be a little bit more?)

Sorry my bad! Here it is

Yes I am, but what is going on when it's using only 3GB for a videogame and it is already at 80%? It must be that it only uses 4GB I think..

Is this when the computer is running at idle?

Yes

That is normal usage when the computer is at idle. That is the amount of RAM that Windows is going to use when it boots. For example on boot my desktop uses ~4.5GB of RAM. Once you open a game it is going to take up more RAM and then bring you to the 85% that you were showing at the other screen. At the 75-85% range when you only have 8GB of RAM you starting running very low on the free RAM. You might only have 500MB if any at all, especially when you are at 85% usage. Therefore Windows is having to page swap from the Standby RAM to the HDD/SSD for what needs to be cached. This page swapping is what is going to cause your computer to lag or your FPS to go up and down. Best fix for this would be to get to 16GB of RAM if you can. This will allow you to have enough free RAM when running the game that the system won't have to page swap.

But when I'm running a game it still says that there's only (about 4GB) avalaible, so it makes no sense because would use those 4GB that are still unused, right? Now I'm playing and it still says 3,5GB available, and when I'm not playing it still says that.
