So I was updating my drivers today and it took a while and started up the update again and the Radeon Updater gave me an error. It told me to download the drivers off of AMD's website. So I did and went on with the update. It went smoothly and told me to restart. Nothing suspicious yet. I booted up Windows again I went to log in and it BSOD'd. It went through the testing and restarted. The reason was "System Thread exception Not Handled" It restarted and it gave me like a television fuzz but in colour. I am now wiping the drive to reinstall Windows. I didn't have anything special on my drive as I am only 13. I was just wondering why this has happened. I suspect it was when I restarted the update.

If you didnt install the proper...

If you didnt install the proper drivers for the proper hardware/software, it could cause that. That reinstall will work, but if u dont have an updated installer, you will be sitting there waiting for those updates like I did with win8. Could you link me specs and I could possibly be able to help you avoid this in the future. Also, did you make sure you downloaded from the CORRECT site? There are a lot of fishy lookin websites if you use search engines such as "Yahoo!"

You have answered my question. It took about 30 minutes before I stopped the update and restarted it again. It was taking forever and I thought it wasn't doing anything. I know I went to the right site because that is the site I always use to update if I needed too. I would just use Radeon settings but it told me to use their site. I have fixed my problem I just wanted to know why this happened Thanks!
