This is really bugging me, it doesn't happen often but sometimes, usually when trying to purchase something online, I get this popup:

at that point I'm stuck because there's no way past it. It doesn't accept my Windows Hello pin, the "forgot my pin" link does nothing, I can't "X" out of it, it keeps coming back. Closing Edge through the task manager doesn't close that security window. The only way I've found is to reboot the system and try to avoid it popping up again. I don't even know why it happens sometimes and not others.

Has anyone else had this problem and hopefully figured it out?

Solution
Pretty sure it's involved with accessing the saved credit cards on my pc.
Looks like you're using MS Edge to browse and it throws the issue. So, it could be browser specific. Try using Firefox or Chrome and look if the issue goes away.

I do not have Edge on my PC anymore. I've uninstalled it completely. (Since i live in Europe, i can do that. The rest of the world is stuck with Edge, without unable to uninstall it.)
Found this, with several things what to try,

The link there that links to the reddit, has more info about the most probable cause:
This usually happens if the device you are using hasn't been verified for the Microsoft Account you are using and you have Apps that require a verified account to access data (e. g. Onedrive, settings sync, Mail, etc.)

You can verify a Windows 10 device via Settings. Go in to Settings and in the Accounts area there should be a link to verify your Microsoft Account to your device.

Thanks for the suggestions, but after looking through them it doesn't look like it's going to help as all my devices are fully trusted and verified. Pretty sure it's involved with accessing the saved credit cards on my pc. Maybe I need to wipe them and start over. Ah well, that's what weekends are for. Thanks again!

Yes, it's browser specific for sure. I've been using Edge for years though and would prefer to continue using it, so I'll just live with this until I get it figured out. Probably the simplest solution is to just do a clean reinstall of Windows and see if it helps, although I'm skeptical. Past time I did that anyway though so I'll give it a shot.
Thanks for the help!
