Hi,
I'm currently running Windows XP pro on one machine, and
Windows 2000 pro on an older machine. I am unable to
connect from XP to 2000 using remote desktop. I read
elsewhere that 2000 doesn't have "terminal services?"
which is why it won't work. if I upgrade to Windows 2000
Server or Windows 2000 Advanced Server, would that enable
me to connect to that computer using remote desktop?
Also, what other advantages does Windows 2000 Server have
over Windows 2000 professional?

First, you can't upgrade from 2000 Pro to 2000 Server...you'd have to
complete re-install the O/S.

For a listing of features of 2000 Server, try the following URL:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/server/evaluation/features/default.asp

2000 Server would allow you to install Terminal Services on the host and
then you could connect using your remote desktop. If all you're looking for
is remote desktop capabilities, you might want to look into 3rd party
software to do this instead of looking at a server O/S. Take a look at VNC,
it's free. www.realvnc.com
