[SOLVED] Windows starting random programs on startup

Hi there,

I have had this problem for quite some time now and it's really starting to annoy me.
Every time I boot up my PC, windows will automatically start programs like word and firefox while I never configured them to do that.
I have checked both shell:startup and task manager but none of those programs are in there.
Does anyone know a fix for this problem?

Are they perhaps programs that you had open on the previous shutdown?

Win 10 tries to be helpful and if you don't close a program on shutdown, will remember to reopen them in next session. Only real way to stop it is with a desktop shortcut that shuts PC down without the setting, or just close them on shutdown - that is what I do.
