I'm working on fixing a computer that's been having multiple issues with windows 10 updates. The update prior to 1607 caused the computer to lose its sound capabilities. It seems like it didn't even recognize the sound card capabilities of the motherboard because there wasn't any sort of sound drivers listed in the device manager. They say they ran something through windows command prompt to see what drivers were deleted in the update, but it said nothing was, so the owner of this computer dealt with this issue by just rolling back the update whenever it occurred and then blocking it from updating again Unfortunately it kept installing this update anyway, and now with this latest version, 1607, it loads only into safe mode and once again, has no sound.

I'm not sure if its related in some weird way, but this computer also regularly slips into airplane made and loses its internet connection, even though its a desktop computer with a wired internet connection. All of these issues seem to be related to windows 10.

Its specs are:

Windows 10 Home Edition 64
MSI Grforce GTX1050
MSI 970 Gaming motherboard
AMD FX 4300 Quad Core Processor
32 Gigs of Kingston HyperX FURY

Any help would be appreciated, thank you very much.

1607 is 2 years old, the version number is based on year/month of release so 1607 is 2016, July version. Microsoft only support last 2 versions now, so 1709 & 1803.

As for sound drivers, there are Win 10 drivers for the realtek chip on both motherboard site here - link oruse the newest from here - link

Win 10 should have drivers for that chipset anyway so do clean install as suggested above.
