Windows update question

Steam was running and installed a downloading game in the background as my updates where installing at the same time without me knowing, is this ok? Is this bad for my pc?

No, Windows updates take priority and generally use a different install mechanism. If Windows Update restarts your computer while steam is installing a game, you might need to reinstall that game after the restart (steam should do it automatically)
