Question Windows Update won't connect and all troubleshooters receive error code 0x80070005 ?

So my PC was running fine the other day, but then I went to check updates and it would load and say "Error, not connected", despite being connected. I went to additional troubleshooters and tried to run the windows update troubleshooter and immediately get an error code 0x80070005. This happens for every single troubleshooter in my Windows. I go to get help option and it opens a blank window and does nothing.

I've looked around online and have tried various fixes, none have worked. I've spent days trying to resolve this issue to no avail. I'm to the point and believe perhaps the only solution is to back up all files and wipe my C drive clean and reinstall Windows. This will take a whole day and I will have to reinstall all my programs again and this is just a last ditch effort I'm trying to avoid. Any ideas?

That means it will not grant you access due to not having the correct permissions. Try making another user account in windows and see if you can access using that. You may have to use windows repair if it does not work.

if you make new user, try running this on it (helps to make new user an admin)
right click start button

choose powershell (admin)

copy/paste this command into window:

Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth

and press enter

Then type SFC /scannow

and press enter

Restart PC if SFC fixes any files as some fixes require a restart to be implemented

First command repairs the files SFC uses to clean files, and SFC fixes system files

SFC = System File Checker. First command runs DISM - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/what-is-dism?view=windows-11

You may have to use windows repair if it does not work.

Actually, I meant this, sorry was not clear. How to: Perform a Repair Upgrade Using the Windows 11 or Windows - Microsoft Community Also forgot to add that you can also try to do a manual windows update. Sometimes an update will erase needed files and mess things up.
