Windows updates don't work

i have just re formatted my current hard drive and need to install updates. My problem is that when i am downloading i have 50 updates, my PC needs to restart so wheni boot it back up it says that alot of updates failed and i still have 50 updates left to do. Help!

try downloading and installing the updates in smaller batches.dont set your updates to automatic,do it manually.

ok ill try this, ill keep in tiuch. Another problem that i seem to have is that dowenloads from the internet about 70% of the time come back corrupted or 'Damaged' so i cannot open them. Im marking this down to updates needing done but is there anything i need to do to stop this from occuring

yeah,i would wait till all the updates are done.ive had update problems with win7 after performance tweaking as well.after changing my services settings some updates just wouldnt install.
