Windows vista task manager not showing all apps

can someone tell me why windows vista is not showing all apps executing. Processes are suppose to be associated to a program are they not. i 've got 60 plus process executing but no apps displays in task manager. Only apps with open windows display.

Windows Task Manager is rudimentary - Try another monitor like Process Explorer (sysinternals) - You get much more information.
