Guys please I really need help I have reinstalled windows xp sp2 from a disk that I always use but I have this problem I installeswireless driver but thowas unable to find a certificate to log you to the network so I looked on the yee old google and found to disable 811 x authentication in wireless networks which was greyed out so I can not click I tried lots of tricks and tips to no avail I am a it system engineer but has struggeld for 4 days with this wireless card Atheros Ar5Bxb63 windows service pack 2
PLEASE HELP
 
you guys dont seem to read correctlly i have had it for 2 years the router 4 days ago i uninstalled and reinstalled windows xp sp2 with the correct drivers its giving me this problems how do i fix it, sorry to sound rude but its for an aunt
 
I would try to delete the network and recreate it. You generally are able to have lots of network connections, like home,office,etc etc all using different security.

I know you can get the option to use the certificates but all the ones I have seen will fall back to preshared keys if they 802.1x authentication if the router indicates it does not want to use 802.1x.... ie it does not respond. Normally you must set the router into enterprise mode to get it to even attempt this.

I know it is possible to lock these options down with group policies but this would imply this machine was a member of a domain and those policies were pushed at login to the domain.
