Hello,

I am having a major issue. My Windows will not boot. I tried as much as I
could in the setup menu to get it to boot up so I could fix what was
wrong...No dice. I can not even boot it up in Safe Mode. I figured that this
was a problem that could be fixed by formatting my computer. No dice. The
setup gets to "setup is starting up windows" Phase of the formatting, near
the start, and freezes. Could ANYONE help me..I'm totally out of ideas.

Thanks in advance,
Stephen S.

1.Try booting from a Windows CD

2. If it didn't work try to repair windows & atlast if u can go to a dos
prompt with the Windows CD on ur system & type - "FIXBOOT".It will fix or
write a new boot sector for you & after this u will be able to boot up.

Hope it helps.

Yer test your ram for a start using this program http://www.memtest86.com/.
If your ram is fine then test other components.

I can not even boot up...that is my issue. Everytime it goes to boot up, it
will blink and restart the booting process...Same when I try to format.

Hi,

Which is one reason why you should check the ram. This is done by booting to
a floppy disk and running the memtest program rather than booting to the
Windows installation.

Yes as rick said no need to run windows, just boot off the floppy or cdrom u
made from the memtest86 site.
Really to me tho it sounds like bad ram. If u have two sticks take one out
and see if the problem goes away. If not try it with the other stick.
When u use memtest it's best to only test one stick at a time. (for obvious
reasons)
