Hello,

I have recently ran into an issue with my card recently. I have an MSI Radeon HD 7950. I have been using this card with no problems for a little over a year.
Currently, I am unable to boot into windows with any drivers installed for the card (Black Screen after windows logo). However, I can boot into safe mode, or when I uninstall the drivers. I have tried multiple versions of catalyst with no such luck.

Is it likely that there is an issue with the card, or is there something else I can try.

Thanks

Solution
Turn your pc on press/ TAP F8 then enter safe mode and boot...
Yes it will run system restore but all the times I have tried it has failed with the dates but that could of been my system or systems only. But system restore does work if you dont have it shut off in system monitoring.

Had this problem just last night, had been messing around with multiple monitor setup and must have pressed the wrong thing. Screen turns black when the sign into windows screen should be there right? Safe mode wouldn't allow me to uninstall any of the AMD drivers / CCC so i was at a loss and about to re-install windows. I had just installed Adobe reader though about an hour prior so in the end i just did a system restore to fix my problem.

I couldn't think of much else to do that would fix it i'm afraid, unless there is a way to uninstall programmes in safe mode delete everything AMD and do a driver sweep should fix it. If not i think it might be a system restore or re-install windows.

I have the same poblem but no idea of what to do, because i tried different bios/driver combination, and also a full windows reset, deleting all partition. When I install 7950 driver on window, reboot...then freeze on black screen. I really cant understand what to do... 🙁

Did you manage to solve this issue somehow? I also have this problem after installing the catalyst on brand new Windows 7 with various motherboards. Frustrated.

i have the same issue as well - brand new windows 7, install win updates, and when i load the catalyst 13.12 it goes to black screen after install. i think this has to be a bad card, I restored windows several times and cleaned up registry, etc for amd remnants, installed different version drivers and still same issue... any help is appreciated.
thanks,

I didn't manage to solve this problem after hours of tries. Because I still have warranty for my card I took it to the store for a check and after several days got a new replacement card.
So it's probably hardware issue.
