I've tried about everything i know how on this computer. I have an Acer aspire 5734Z-4836 laptop and it will not run windows updates. Ive run several programs to fix it but nothing works.

I've run FIX WU UTILITY V1.0 from thewindowsclub.com and no fix

I've run these three batch files from seven forums.
Reset_Reregister_Windows_Update_Components
Reset_Windows_Update_Full
Reset_windows_Update_History
not sure if those names help you any.

The other program i've run is a Windows Update Diagnostics Program from Microsoft. I'm posting a pic of the results of that.

Sometimes the "not fixed" part on that picture does fix but still no updates.

I've also read on one of microsfots pages that this download fixes it KB947821 but when I run it it never gets finishes.

My recommendation would be to connect it to ethernet, leave it checking for updates for 24 hours and make sure the PC cannot go to sleep. Also make sure there is lots of space on hard drive.

I've not tried any type of system restore. I'm a repair shop but this is throwing me fore a loop. Ive run sfc /scannow but the command says no integrity violations were found.

How long have you left it checking? I have had some machines that have taken days to finish checking but it eventually completed the update.

Another thing to try is to connect laptop to internet with ethernet cable. when you are doing this.

Ive had it connected to ethernet and wireless. I've been working on it for a week I usually leave it checking for updates 8 hours a day.

A lot of laptop PCs at this age usually have very slow hard drives. If any kind of disk cleanup and defrag have not been done for a while, it will also result in very very slow process when dealing with tasks that require a lot of disk I/O. I suggest to do a disk cleanup using the built-in app and also Ccleaner. Then, use Auslogics Disk Defrag to do a deep defragmentation. Meanwhile, also turn of automatically Windows Update before these tasks are done.

After cleaning and defragging the disk, try Windows Update again.
