WIndows won't allow access to a folder.

I'm trying to install Java for a friend of mine, but every time I try to run the .exe the message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." They're the only user on the computer, and are then (obviously) the administrator.

I've also forced ownership of the folder to their user and I still get the same message.

Can you right click the exe and "run as administrator"?

No I cannot, even running as administrator I still get the same message.

When do you get the error? when you try opening the installation exe or after you select where to install to?

When I try to run the the .exe file to install Java.

move the exe to another location?
could also be the temp directory, any other install having issue?

I get the same message if I try to move or delete the file.

So you can't move or delete the file? Where is the exe file at, what folder?
Did you download it online?
