Hi there, I would be grateful for anyone's advice please. I am trying to get Windows to index the files and folders on my 2TB internal hard drive. My PC has a solid state drive with my operating system on it (named the "C: Drive"), and I have a hard drive (named the "B: Drive") for general storage and containing all my files and folders etc.
I have already tried going into "Indexing Options" in Control Panel and chosen "Modify" to add the relevant folders I want indexed. The folders do appear in the "included locations" box, so they are definitely being added for indexing correctly. I also tried using the "Advanced" button option to delete/rebuild the index. However, nothing on my B: Drive seems to get indexed as it states "0 files indexed" and "indexing complete".
However, if for example I try and index my solid state "C: Drive" (pretty pointless as this only houses the operating system) then it does report that "8,456 items indexed", so it's obviously seems to at least be functioning.
So....is there any particular reason why my PC seems happy to index any and all files and folders on my C: Drive but refuses to index anything on my B: Drive? Thanks for any advice!
