I recently installed a new Kingston SSDNow V300 into my notebook PC and on my old regular 5200rpm WD Scorpio Blue hard drive I basically had to reinstall windows, then clone it and put it onto this SSD to get it to work and everything works great, I can start windows in 14 seconds from the time the Acer BIOS screen comes up and I love it.

Shut down was working for a while but now when I hit shut down, it simply does the typical shutting down screen, then the screen shuts off but I can see the lights for the SSD are still on and the fan is also on blowing out warm air. So the problem is that I cannot shut down my computer at all without holding the power button and doing it that way.

I think you should do a normal install. Make hdd unbootable, remove it from laptop, then install windows on ssd. In my Acer laptop with ssd+hdd, i couldn't install Windows while two disks were attached. My laptop boots in 8 seconds after clean install, so your 14 seconds seem too long.
