Windows XP BSOD 0x7B on Setup

Okay. I am fixing a dell dimension 8300 for a friend and whenever I try to install xp, I get the stop code: 0x0000007B (0XF8981524, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)

And the only sata drive I have available is 1 TB. Will that work okay?

Yes, it will be fine. For SATA you'll need XP with the driver slipstreamed.

Did you slipstream the SATA drivers on an XP PC?? You shouldn't do it on another OS. It won't work

Also make sure you select text mode in Nlite

I did not. I also do not see why it would make a difference but that is just me. I also don't see why slipstreaming sata drivers would help on a computer that is using an ide hard drive.

Well that stop error is coming up for a reason. But youre right I dont know why if its IDE

It'll make a diff what you slipstream XP on.

Turns out I needed to replace my the IDE cable! That fixed it!
