Windows xp doesnt see my sata hard drive, but the bios does

my gateway laptop has been reformatted but when installing a windows xp it says that there is no hard drive connected so i reformatted it to the other computer but when i return it to the gateway laptop it will turn into blue screen and it says that windows xp does not install successfully. what might be the problem and what is the best solution for this? thank you

yea sure bcz the hard drive want to take the component of the computer
and when u reformatted on another computer and replaced it on ur machine the it wil not recognized on ur computer components
