Windows XP in virtual machines, how much slower is it?

Windows XP in virtual machines (VBox, VMWare) run as guest generally shows slower performance than native install (host) but does anybody know how much slower it really is in guest mode in average? (10%, 30% or more>)?

I cannot find any comparative results of SuperPi 1M or 32M run both in Windows XP guest mode and native install.

Assuming you have a viable host system, and an XP install USB or DVD, it is free to try it.

Performance of the guest OS depends on the use case, and the properties of the host.
