Hello, I believe I have a somewhat unique situation.
Searched high and low, no help.

I picked Windows 10, as I believe it has to be a software issue.

I wanted to safe boot, so the PC restarted.
After that, no bios, no post. PC's running.

Shut down, then I started the PC again - POST and BIOS visible.
Cannot boot still.

Cleared CMOS, nothing. Took out RAM, nothing.
I even placed Win10 installation DVD, I can boot, but no Welcome screen from the installation wizard. Just blank.

GPU's work fine.

Any ideas?

Hello Tomislav_3

Can you please elaborate the things you did? I mean, is it a desktop computer or a laptop, when you say you picked Windows 10, do you mean you were able to install Windows 10 and the issue started only when you tried to boot it in Safe Mode?

If even the Windows 10 installation disk fails to display anything but the vendor's logo appears properly, you may want to hard reset the laptop. However, if it's a desktop computer clearing CMOS does almost the same thing.

In any case, you may want to check if the CMOS battery is not drained out and obsolete.

Feel free to report back if further assistance is needed.

Cheers!! :)

I apologize for the lack of specific information.

I believe they weren't necessary. 😛

It is a desktop, with 2 XFX RX580 8GB
intel i5 7500
MSI Z270.

It's a relatively new build.

Considering the CMOS has no jumper, nor button for reset, I had to manually remove it, reverse polarity (?), and placed it back in after 5 seconds. It works now. (At first I removed the battery, but just by the clip, I couldn't retrieve it, because of the two Graphic Cards(GC), very narrow passage).

So, I removed the bottom GC, removed the batterry and booted.

All is good now. Closing topic. :)

Can you boot from a non-windows Cd or DVD or USB?
If not the DVD drive may be playing up.
I have seen similar rather peculiar things happening when the CD or DVD drive was almost but not quite dead.

I did a Hyrion Boot, to check out some diagnostics, the DVD works just fine.
It may have been a GC issue, perhaps, wasn't getting the image from it. Perhpas the IGP was showing the display.

In short, clearing the CMOS did the deal. As usual. 😀
