So recently I have had issues with windows 11 becoming unresponsive and having things coming up "not responding" I've had instances of Windows folders, Windows "save as" feature and task manager stop responding and being completely unable to be closed This occurs whether I 've been using my pc for hours or just a few minutes, I have also had instances of being unable to open any programs or processes no matter what, sometimes if a program is already open its buttons will still be clickable but will simply do nothing I am even being unable to close or restart the pc without using the power button, either by the shut down or restart buttons just not doing anything or if they do work they just tend to shut the system down whiler still keeping the actual pc on.,

I have tried Malware scans, sfc/ scannow, CHKDSK, Memory test, Driver updates and DISM, clean boot and safe mode. the problem has even persisted through a Windows reset and I'm completely out of ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated

I have been monitoring temperatures and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary, There are four drives on this system 3 HDDs and an m.2 SSD which windows is running from.

as for hard ware my specs are as follows

System Manufacturer: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd.
System Model: MS-7B79
BIOS: H.H0 (type: UEFI)
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor (12 CPUs), ~3.6GHz
Memory: 24576MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 24498MB RAM

gpu is an Nvidia rtx 3050

Assuming Windows is installed on the M.2 and that none of the other OS partitions are on those HDD, disconnect the SATA cables from all the HDD and do an operational test. If speeds and responsiveness are restored then troubleshoot each individual drive.

edit- would also be sure there isn't a motherboard limitation for having SATA hooked up at specific port alongside M.2 being used.

so after a week of testing this seems to have sorted it, after disconnecting and reconnecting each drive ckdsk was able to find errors in some of the drives and after fixing them the problem seems to be solved.
