Windows8 BIOS help

So I have recently upgraded from Ubuntu to Windows 8.1 but I cannot seem to get into my BIOS settings, it just jumps straight to the operating system. I really need help guys. Thanks.

Hi

Motherboard make & model would be useful
also is keyboard USB or PS/2 ?
(and a standard keyboard or something special where Function keys dont act as Function keys until another special key is pressed)

The operating system is not relevent to getting into BIOS (may change if a uefi bios)

Hi, my motherboard is an gigabyte GA-990FXA-D3, and my mouse is USB. I heard something about win 8.1 disabling BIOS and just jumping straight to the OS, I have upgraded from Ubuntu so I do not get the UEFI settin
