hi guys,

i just noticed something odd.

after unlocking my duron 600 ( graphite pencil trick ), i found that i could not boot into windows when the cpu was set higher than 850 or 880 ( increasing voltage up to 185 or various combinations of clock or fsb speed all didnt work ). i was afraid i might have a poorer quality cpu, and at any higher speed setting i would hang when windows started ( past the winME screen) but was able to boot into windows if using the safe boot.

since i was hoping to get to the 950 sweetspot, i kept fidling with the twidly bits to try and get it higher.

anyway, after installing the ms fix for the shutdownbug, i can now happely boot into windows at up to 950 (or even higher) and my system runs stable at those speeds from what i can tell so far.

just thought somebody else might find this usefull to :)

abit kt7, duron 600 @ 950 ( 1.7 volt, emm or is that milivolt :), 128 mb pc133 sdram, sb128, internal pci modem, isa adaptec scsi card, sony cdrw, 10 gig wd ata66 hd, geoforce 2 mx, average cpu fan ( need a better one, but temp is ok at a max 41 celcius under load )
