Winodows 7 Black screen after starting windows

I have read allot and seen many similar threads, but none of the solutions worked for me. I left me computer on a couple nights ago I woke up went to school and came back and my screen was black and unresponsive. I then restarted my pc and it went to a black screen right before login, then I restarted in safe mode and uninstalled my gpu from the device manager. I was then able to load in normal mode. I tried uninstalled ccc and then re-installed it but it needs me to restart after every time which I then have to unistall my gpu again and so on. I started up my pc again windows installed a standard vga adapter driver for my gpu and now when I open ccc it says "catalyst control center cannon't be started" Any thoughts? I've been trying a whole bunch of things with no success and would hate for my gpu to be shot.

i5 2500k

8gb corsair vengeance

Asrock pro 4 mobo

HD 7870

OCZ 550w modular psw

first, with standard VGA, CCC is not going to work, drivers need to be installed, try installing drivers but not the CCC to see if this works, you may be using the new BETA drivers and CCC and that is the issue, the CCC software is 13.4 and drivers are 13.10 Beta, try looking for 13.1 drivers and CCC to see if this works instead = http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/previous/13/Pages/radeon.aspx?os=Windows%20Vista%20-%2064-Bit%20Edition&rev=13.1

For how long did you leave your PC on?
And while you left it on did you make your GPU run any heavy things?
Did you have your PC cooled?
Because a wire could have burned through or your GPU overheated

It was just idling all night, nothing was on and my pc temp was 29c. I will try and install the driver seperate and see if that works

If that doesn't work try a case fan (120mm fans are the best for their price)

My pc only works (doesn't go to black screen) when I uninstall my gpu from device manager, I tried install 13.1 and still no luck ccc still wont open. There has to be a driver or software issue.
