Winver does not specify SE

Hi,

I have a PC running Windows 98 SE. The Windows disc came with the PC from
the manufacturer (Dan, a bona fide manufacturer which has since gone under).
On My Computer - Properties it specifies Win98SE, and under Control Panel -
System it does too. However when I run winver it just says Windows 98 - no
mention of SE. I would not care about this except that my new camera
software checks to see if my OS is supported. SE is, but FE isn't, and guess
what it uses to check the version? Winver...

So, how can I make winver report the correct version?

Top 3 comments you don't want to see in other people's code:
3. 'Causes error - will resolve later
2. 'see <nonexistent reference>
1. 'can't remember what this does!!!

This really is an issue for the camera maker and you should consult
whoever that is. Winver reports "Windows 98" for Win98SE and ver reports
the same thing but adds the version number 4.10.2222 which identifies
Win98SE.

Perhaps you can force the camera software to use ver (a DOS program)
instead of winver (windows program). Still the first thing you should do
is contact the manufacturer.

When it checks, it should check for the revision number.
Revision version number would identify if it is SE or not.
