Since there isn't a XP forum yet, I'll post this here.

Does WinXP integrate Internet Connection Sharing into its OS? Is it compatible with the Internet Connection Sharing of Win98SE, as well as the one of WinME?

I believe the answer is yes. It should be basically the same as 2000, where you just go to properties, and check the little "share this connection" box.

Yes, ICS is going to be in Win XP, and considering how NAT works, it will be compatible w/ win 98/se/2000. Essentially all the work is done on the gateway machine, and the client machines just think they are another part of the internet. Essentially the gateway machine runs a DHCP allocator, and the clients get their IP's (which are addresses defined as private network addresses in RFC... oh I forget...) from the gateway. In case you were not aware, ICS is just Microsoft's implementation of Network Adress Translation (NAT). so essentially, nothing would change, because the gateway always performs the same functions, although the underlying mechanisms may have been streamlined or had more functionality added (like the ability to allocate more than 255 addresses).
